the “Big Three“

Trials of Valor and The Valor Shop

Trials of Valor and the Valor Shop sound very similar, and that’s because a lot of what goes on here is sort of part of the same system.

Trials are our unique spin on a traditional Mob Arena and the primary prizes are Trial Points, used in the Trial Shop, and Badges of Valor, used in the Valor Shop. More information about Trials can be found here.

The Valor Shop allows you to use Valor Badges to purchase custom items, armor sets, McMMO XP boosts, and more. More information about the Valor Shop can be found here.

Gem Socketing

Gem Socketing is rather simple. Each of your pieces of armor has 5 “Sockets” and each of these sockets can be filled with a gem. Gems come in a few different flavors with each of them giving a small bonus to a certain attribute. The primary way to acquire gems is to turn Trial Points into “Crusted Gems,” which you can open for a random gem. Speaking of which, there are two different types of gems: stat gems and armor gems. Stat gems increase a stat, like movement or attack speed, and armor gems can be used to upgrade lower tiers of armor up to diamond armor. Each stat gem will take up one of your Sockets, armor gems won’t consume a slot.

Stat Gems:

  • Gem of Agility: +5% Movement Speed

  • Gem of Haste: +5% Attack Speed

  • Gem of Tenacity: +10% Knockback Resistance

  • Gem of Vigor: +1% Max HP (0.5 hearts)

Armor Gems:

  • Gem of Preservation: +1 Armor

  • Gem of Fortitude: +2 Armor Toughness

Heirlooms

You can take up to 3 items with you to the next map! Near the end of the map, we’ll notify the community when we open heirloom registration. A couple weeks into the new map you’ll be able to acquire your heirlooms. With the exception of netherite items*, in order to acquire your heirlooms, you’ll need the same item type as the one you registered. For example, if you register a diamond shovel as an heirloom, you’ll need a diamond shovel to acquire it on the new map.

*For netherite items you only need the diamond equivalent.

The Purge Splurge

Near the end of the map, we have a weeklong “Purge” this is now the “Splurge”! where money made can be turned into Purge Splurge Lottery Tickets. The winner of the Purge Splurge Lottery receives a custom item that you take with you to every map without using an heirloom slot. Read more about our BRAND NEW Splurge event here!

Mob Effects

Babies - Baby mobs that are fed a poisonous potato will remain as babies permanently.

Mobs that are fed a golden apple while affected by strength or invisibility will become permanently invulnerable or invisible respectively. Certain mobs also require Badges of Valor to apply invulnerability (NOT invisibility).

  • Iron Golems: 8 Badges of Valor

  • Villagers, Horses, Llamas, Bears, Wolves, Wither: 4 Badges of Valor

  • Ocelots, non-passive mobs: 1 Badge of Valor

  • Passive mobs: no Badges required

  • Hostile mobs: become pacified when either effect is applied.

Pets

Rename an item to ‘Wolf Whistle’ and you can use it to control your nearby wolves:

  • Right-click to make them target the mob you’re looking at

  • Sneak + right-click to toggle if all nearby wolves are sitting

  • Left-click to make them un-target their current target

  • Sneak + left-click to teleport all your nearby wolves to you

Additionally, you can name an item ‘Catnip’ instead and these will affect nearby ocelots instead. Any item will work as a whistle or catnip.

Wrenching

Right-clicking on rotatable blocks with a pickaxe (and an empty offhand) allows you to rotate them in place. This can be disabled/enabled by using ‘/wrench’.

Chiseling

Right-clicking with a hoe can chisel blocks, modify stair shapes, and connect or disconnect fences and walls from adjacent blocks. This can be disabled/enabled by using ‘/chisel’.

Displays

Members have access to the ‘/display’ command which allows you to manage and interact with various displays. Displays can be blocks, items, or text and they do not have collisions. More info here!

Armor Stands

Players are able to manipulate and pose armor stands in a variety of ways.

Armor Stand Customizer

Holding shift and right-clicking with an empty hand will open the armor stand customizer GUI to change various aspects about the stand.

  • Invisibility Potion: Toggles visibility of the armor stand's body

  • Feather: Toggles whether the armor stand is affected by gravity

  • Smooth Stone Slab: Toggles visibility of the armor stand's base

  • Stick: Toggles whether the armor stand has arms

  • Bonemeal: Toggles the size of the armor stand

Syntax: /rotate <body part> <x angle> <y angle> <z angle>

Body parts:

  • Head

  • Body

  • Left Arm

  • Right Arm

  • Right Leg

Players can also move the armor stand upon any axis by holding an ender pearl and punching the armor stand. Standing and punching with the pearl will move the armor stand 1/4 of a block away from the player. Crouching and punching with the pearl will move it 1/20 of a block away

MobCatcher

Allows you to capture mobs and acquire their eggs, however, you can only use it on friendly mobs! (Not including villagers)

To catch a mob you will need:

  • 1 egg

  • 5 diamonds

Simply throw the egg at the desired mob (you can also punch the mob)

When caught, the mob data (color, age, tame status, etc.) is saved!

If you want to sell your caught animals in a shop, you can use ‘/mobc clean’ to clean the excess data off of the mob egg.

  • ‘/bottle getTo <level>’ - Stores as much XP as is needed to drop you to the specified level
